KUALA LUMPUR: A book titled Dalam Salju Ada Bunga written by Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Steven Sim Chee Keong was launched at the Parliament today.

The book, launched by Dewan Rakyat Speaker Datuk Mohamad Ariff Md Yusof, is a compilation of poems written by Sim in Malay since 2003.

“Language is often used as a weapon to condemn, slander and control the minds of the people,” said Sim.

“Therefore, through poems I am expressing myself as a Malaysian and politician, as well as touched on what happened in Parliament.

“I hope this book will shut many mouths that claim that DAP is against Bahasa Melayu.”

Ariff praised Sim, who has an engineering background, for writing the poems.

“Statesmen in the past also used literature to educate the nation. This is also in line with the Merdeka month,” he said.

Dalam Salju Ada Bunga is priced at RM25.
