Boris Johnson news – live: MPs approve Jacob Rees-Mogg's in-person voting plan after queueing for 1km

MPs have approved a return to voting in person, after queueing for 1km in what one branded a Jacob Rees-Mogg-imposed “conga”. One was pictured in Portcullis House – across the road from the Palace of Westminster – waiting their turn to join the queue.

Earlier, Matt Hancock admitted that coronavirus had “exposed huge disparities in the health of our nation” after a government review found some non-white people were twice as likely to die after contracting Covid-19 as their white compatriots.

And in other news, Boris Johnson’s government is considering relaxing the 14-day quarantine rule for people arriving in UK and allowing “air bridges” with countries with low infection rates.
