The Boys season 2 star responds to major Stormfront twist

Stormfront actress Aya Cash has discussed the shocking racism her character adopts in The Boys season 2.
In one scene, Kimiko (played by Karen Fukuhara) and her brother are chased by the Seven, but as the camera focuses on Stormfront's pursuit of them, it becomes clear how evil she truly is.
Blasting through an apartment block, she murders every person of colour in sight with her electrical powers, before calling Kimiko's brother a "f**king yellow bastard" and snapping his neck.

Cash spoke to Entertainment Weekly to offer some thoughts on this reveal: "I knew in the comics that [Stormfront] was a male, he had been a part of Nazi youth and that was a big part of the character, and that I was going to play a bad guy with a capital B."
"My agents actually were like, 'You need to figure out if this is something you wanna do,'" she added, while explaining that her character's despicable actions "didn't concern" her.
"I think the only reason people are nervous or skittish about this is because it feels so real versus the bad guy [Homelander] who lets the plane with all the children [go down] – which is also a character on this show and nobody seems to ask that question: 'Are you worried about being that kind of bad guy?'"

Apparently, an initial conversation with showrunner Eric Kripke was all she needed before auditioning for this controversial role.
"We had a meeting before I auditioned. I basically said, 'I would do this job as long as the showrunner is smarter than me,'" she recalled.
"We sat down and we talked. He knows what he's talking about. We can have a dialogue about extremism and about racism and it's gonna be done in a way that both honours what is true in that and also has some fun with it because this is a satire.
"This is something that turns things on its head."
The Boys season two dropped on Amazon Prime Video on September 4 with episodes 1-3, and will continue weekly from September 11. The show's first season is available to stream now.
