Brad Pitt Flashes a Smile as He Films Scenes for “F1” in Abu Dhabi: See the Photos from Set
Brad Pitt's upcoming movie about F1 racing is still filming at real Formula One events; the movie is scheduled to release June 27, 2025
Brad Pitt is back to the races!
Pitt, 60, appeared on the set of his new movie F1 on Thursday, Dec. 5 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates as the production filmed scenes ahead of this weekend's Abu Dhabi Formula One Grand Prix. The actor was photographed holding a hat that he appeared to autograph, while grasping his cell phone in another hand as he dressed in all-white racing gear at the event.
Though the movie released its first teaser trailer back in July, Pitt is still filming scenes at events throughout the real-life racing circuits' actual season. He was most recently seen filming several scenes during the 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix.

In F1, Pitt stars as a former driver “who returns to Formula 1 at APXGP, a fictional team on the grid," per a synopsis. He costars alongside Damson Idris, who plays his teammate, as they “compete against the titans of the sport” during the Grand Prix. Along with Pitt and Idris, the cast also includes Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia and Samson Kayo. The movie has been filming during F1's real Grand Prix races this year and will feature 10 different real Formula 1 teams and actors who portray their drivers.

Joseph Kosinski, who previously directed 2022's Top Gun: Maverick, directs. Kosinski, 50, is also producing the film alongside Pitt, Jerry Bruckheimer, Chad Oman, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner.
Seven-time Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton is also working on the movie as a producer under his film and TV production company Dawn Apollo Films.
Bruckheimer, 81, told PEOPLE back in May that Pitt trained “for four or five months” to drive the race cars seen in the upcoming movie. “He's an amazing driver," he said of Pitt at the time. "In fact, some of the F1 drivers said he's a natural athlete. He really is. He's amazing in that car."
F1 is in theaters and IMAX June 27, 2025.
