Police say that a group of hikers participating in the search found the 15-year-old’s remains in Gunung Berembun area of Pantai Hills, just two kilometers from the resort where the family were staying. Her body was found naked in a stream.
Her parents were brought to the location where her body was found, and were able to positively identify it as their teen daughter, who went missing 10 days earlier.
A postmortem will be carried out Wednesday morning by a senior pathologist from Kuala Lumpur to shed more light on how the teen, who had only been at the resort for a day out of their two-week holiday, managed to meet such a tragic end.
Nora, along with her parents and two siblings, arrived at the Negri Sembilan resort on August 3; however, when the family awoke the following morning, the teen was not in the room she shared with her siblings. A window, accessible only from the inside of the house, was open, but few clues indicated what had occurred.
Nora was described as special needs, and her parents described it as out of character for the young girl to stray far from them.
