Bren Esports unveil Wild Rift team, drop CS:GO
Filipino organisation Bren Esports announced on Thursday (4 March) that they have expanded into another mobile esports title with their entry into the League of Legends: Wild Rift, the official mobile port of the popular MOBA League of Legends.
Bren's new Wild Rift team are comprised of midlaner "Haze", BR laner "Jeth", attack damage carry player "Cosmo", support player "Buck", as well as junglers "Ace" and "Rebengga". Haze, Jeth, and Rebengga were notably active in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) scene in the Philippines either as pro players or streamers prior to their switch to Wild Rift.
Bren's new Wild Rift roster is also one of eight teams invited to compete in the Philippine leg of the League of Legends: Wild Rift Southeast Asia Icon Series: Preseason from 20-21 March.
The Wild Rift SEA Icon Series, which kicked off on 26 February, is the game's first tournament and gives teams from seven countries in the region to showcase their skills ahead of the start of the competitive season proper.
The Wild Rift Southeast Asia Icon Series: Summer season will kick off shortly after the preseason event. It will be an eight week-long competition where teams will compete to be the best in their region and advance onto pan-regional tournaments for a chance to become the first Wild Rift regional champions.
Bren Esports' acquisition of a new Wild Rift team comes days after the organisation released its Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) roster on Monday (1 March). Bren have been operating a CS:GO team since 2019, with the squad going on to become one of the more prolific Filipino teams in the scene during their run together.
With the release of its CS:GO roster, Bren Esports seem to be shifting more of their focus towards their more successful squads in Valorant and MLBB as well as their newly-acquired Wild Rift team.
Bren's Valorant team are one of the best in Southeast Asia, becoming the first team to qualify for the Valorant SEA Masters tournament following their dominant run through the Philippines' Challenger 2 event in the Southeast Asian leg of the 2021 Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) last month.
Bren Esports' flagship squad remains their MLBB team, who became the reigning MLBB world champions in January after their victory in the M2 World Championship in Singapore.
