Prepare for performing dogs, gravity-defying dance troupes and eccentric magicians - fingers crossed - as Britain's Got Talent will be returning to ITV with its 14th series later this month.

The first episode will air on April 11, which was confirmed in a tweet from ITV's official press centre account. Long-term hosts Ant and Dec were also tagged in the post.

The audition stages - which have been filmed across the UK - will feature in the latest series. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, filming has been temporarily paused in the entertainment industry. There will be a gap on Britain's Got Talent between the pre-recorded auditions and the live shows.

A statement from ITV added: "We are also working with our production colleagues to see how we can make the BGT live shows work in an ever-changing situation and we will update on this in due course."

ITV has released a fun-filled trailer for the new series, which reunites judges Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden, along with presenters Ant and Dec and a whole load of Golden Buzzer glitter tape.

Last year's series featured former champions across the world taking part in Britain's Got Talent: The Champions spin-off. This year, the show will be returning to its normal format, so fans can expect some new and exciting talent on our TV screens very soon.

Britain's Got Talent will air at 9pm on ITV on 11 April.
