British rap star Stormzy brings world tour to Zouk Singapore, tickets sold out
SINGAPORE — British grime star Stormzy will take his 55-date H.I.T.C. World Tour to Singapore, with a stop at Zouk on 21 March.
Tickets for his show here sold out within two days after the announcement of the Singapore stop by concert promoter Collective Minds. The tour’s Kuala Lumpur stop on 20 March and the Shanghai stop on 27 March were also sold out.
The show will be in support of the rapper’s second album, Heavy Is The Head, which was released in December last year, said Collective Minds. The album featured collaborations with top vocalists such as Ed Sheeran, Burna Boy and YEBBA.
The 26-year-old created history last year when he became the first British rapper to headline the Glastonbury Festival, one of the world’s biggest music festivals.
It followed his first British No. 1 hit, Vossi Bop, which broke the record for the biggest week-one streams for a British rapper when it was released in April 2019.
After thriving in the UK underground grime scene with a series of triumphant mixtapes, singles, and freestyles, Stormzy made his breakthrough in 2017 with his chart-topping debut Gang Signs and Prayer, which incorporated gospel and R&B influences.
His current tour – his largest live offering yet – will span across Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, North America and Africa.
