Broken eggs cause 'obstacle' along Orchard Road

Cartons of broken eggs caused traffic to slow down along Orchard Road on Thursday morning.

In videos and photos sent by Marcus Go to Yahoo News Singapore, several broken eggs were seen strewn on the road near Takashimaya and Mandarin Gallery.

At 10:25am the Land Transport Authority’s Traffic News Twitter account said there was an “Obstacle” on Orchard Road. Traffic police were also on site to help direct traffic.

The Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the incident at 10:25am.

SCDF said that the spillage stretched for 15m near a busy junction along Orchard Road.

“In the interest of public safety, the SCDF responded to clear up the affected area and there were no injuries reported,” said a spokesperson.
