Broncos trample Cardinals in blowout

The Denver Broncos snapped their four-game losing streak with a blowout 45-10 win over Arizona on Thursday which piled more pressure on beleaguered Cardinals head coach Steve Wilks. Cardinals quarterback Josh Rosen was sacked six times and threw three interceptions, including two in a disastrous first quarter which were returned for touchdowns. The 21-year-old also coughed up three fumbles throughout the game. The Cardinals heard boos from their home fans throughout the game as they slid to a defeat which left last in the NFC West at 1-6. Linebacker Todd Davis opened the scoring after picking off Rosen for the first touchdown and the Broncos then doubled their lead with a clever trick play which ended with Emmanuel Sanders tossing a 28-yard touchdown pass to fellow receiver Courtland Sutton. Phil Dawson got Arizona on the board with a 43-yard field goal to make it 14-3. But Rosen then threw his second pick-six of the night when Chris Harris Jr. intercepted and raced 53 yards for the score. Sanders bagged a touchdown of his own when Case Keenum connected with a 64-yard pass to make it 28-3 in the opening minute of the second quarter as boos began to ring out at Arizona's State Farm Stadium. The Broncos then extended their lead to 35-3 after running back Royce Freeman crashed over from the one-yard line in the final seconds of the half. The Cardinals managed a consolation score midway through the third quarter when Rosen connected with Larry Fitzgerald from four yards out. But the Broncos were soon back on their front foot as a 28-yard run from running back Phillip Lindsay gave them a 42-10 lead heading to the fourth quarter. Brandon McManus added a 41-yard field goal with 5:39 remaining to make the final score 45-10.
