BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (AP) _ Brookdale Senior Living Inc. (BKD) on Monday reported a loss of $268.5 million in its fourth quarter.
The Brentwood, Tennessee-based company said it had a loss of $1.45 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 44 cents per share.
The senior housing company posted revenue of $1.21 billion in the period, which did not meet Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.22 billion.
For the year, the company reported that its loss narrowed to $404.4 million, or $2.18 per share. Revenue was reported as $4.98 billion.
Brookdale shares have increased 19 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $14.84, a rise of 22 percent in the last 12 months.
