Buboy Villar wins achievement award

The teen star bags the award at GIFF for his portrayal of young Manny Pacquiao in "Kid Kulafu"

9 Oct - Teen actor Robert Villar, also known as Buboy Villar, has recently been honoured with an Achievement in Acting award at the Guam International Film Festival.

According to ABS-CBN News, the 17-year-old actor, who portrays the younger version of professional boxer Manny Pacquiao in the critically lauded movie, "Kid Kulafu", expressed delight with the honour on Instagram.

He wrote, "Thank you so much for supporting Kid Kulafu."

"First I want to thank the Lord, as well as the cast and the crew. Director, thank you for the trust given to me, and my family who always supports me. Thank you!"

Directed by Paul Soriano, "Kid Kulafu" is a rags-to-riches story about a young Manny Pacquiao as a poor kid who embarks on an intense journey to become the boxing champion that he is now.

The movie also stars Alessandra de Rossi, Cesar Montano, and Khalil Ramos.
