Buckingham Palace Says Queen Elizabeth Is Being "Kept Informed" of Boris Johnson's Condition
Queen Elizabeth is being "kept informed" of Prime Minister Boris Johnson's medical condition and his transfer to intensive care, according to a new statement released this evening by Buckingham Palace.
On March 27, Johnson announced that he was experiencing mild symptoms and had tested positive for COVID-19.
"I am working from home, I am self isolating, and that's entirely the right thing to do," he said in a video clip which was shared on his Twitter account.
"Be in no doubt that I can continue, thanks to the wizardry of modern technology, to communicate with all my top team to lead the national fight back against coronavirus," he said.
Over the last 24 hours I have developed mild symptoms and tested positive for coronavirus.
I am now self-isolating, but I will continue to lead the government’s response via video-conference as we fight this virus.

After experiencing persistent symptoms, the Prime Minister was admitted to the hospital for additional testing on April 5, and today, he was moved to the intensive care unit as his symptoms "worsened."
"The prime minister has been under the care of doctors at St Thomas' Hospital, in London, after being admitted with persistent symptoms of coronavirus," reads a statement from Downing Street.
"Over the course of [Monday] afternoon, the condition of the prime minister has worsened and, on the advice of his medical team, he has been moved to the intensive care unit at the hospital."
It continues: "The PM is receiving excellent care, and thanks all NHS staff for their hard work and dedication."
The UK has been hit particularly hard by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. As of today, 51,608 people have tested positive for the disease in the country, and 5,373 people have died.
