I've found a budget-friendly boucle chair for just £120

If you stay up-to-date with homeware trends, chances are you've already seen that boucle fabric is having a moment. The trendy, textured French fabric is currently covering everything from cushions to sofas and accent chairs on my Instagram feed and features in almost every interiors magazine I flick through.

However, the cosy and luxurious-looking furniture does come at a price. The Garret Chair, which is one of the most popular boucle designs on my social media feeds, retails for £1,695 from Soho House.

I, however, really didn't want to spend over £200 on a new accent chair, so went on the hunt for a more budget-friendly option. But it wasn't easy.

In fact, for a while it seemed like the only way to do it was to take the lead from a few savvy bargain lovers on Instagram who cleverly up-cycled second hand chairs. But finding an aesthetically-pleasingly-shaped chair, sourcing the fabric and then getting it upholstered would still take me well over my budget.

So, it was back to the drawing board and my hopes were dwindling until I came across a fairly new chair at Homebase.

Tori Boucle Tub Chair: Quick Overview

🛍️ Product reviewed: Tori Boucle Tub Chair
Tested for: Two years
Rating: 5/5
💸 Reasons to buy: It's one of the most affordable options on the market and looks just as luxury as ones triple the price
Reasons to avoid: I honestly have no negatives about it, I was going to say if you're clumsy the white hue may not be for you but I'm two years in and still yet to spill red wine on it
💰 Best deal we've found: Homebase has currently reduced the chair from an already affordable £150 to just £120 - absolute bargain

This affordable chair looks so much more expensive than it is and comes in two colour options: black or white.

💸 Reasons to buy

The Tori Tub Boucle Chair is not only made from soft boucle style fabric, it also features a modern tub silhouette with a curved backrest that looked equally sophisticated and practical for cosying up with a book or glass of wine.

Plus, the very affordable £150 price tag also got a massive green tick for being within budget. It almost seemed too good to be true, so like any good shopping editor, I did more digging.

I was mostly concerned about the colour of the fabric - will it be stark white or come with a bit of a yellow tinge? The online imagery didn't quite make it clear.

A quick scroll through Homebase's tagged page on Instagram (AKA the best place to find IRL images of products), I discovered that the Tori Tub Boucle Chair was in fact the latest version of the already best-selling Sean Boucle Occasional Chair.

The initial accent chair, which is currently reduced to just £66, came in a more minimal 'cocktail' silhouette and was already a favourite with homeware fans, which led to Homebase releasing it in a whopping seven colours, which continuously sold out.

After being impressed with the Instagram images from happy customers of the the original chair, I bit the bullet and bought the Tori Tub Boucle Chair - and as soon as it arrived, it did not disappoint.

Firstly it's very, very easy to put together. It took me five minutes max, as all you need to do is screw the four legs in with the hex key provided. I can also confirm that it's as soft and comfy to curl up in as it looks.

While I know it isn't everyone's taste (my mum just sent me a ton of sheep emojis when I sent her a photo), I'm very happy with my budget-friendly find and no one can believe it was under £200.

For those worried about spills and stains, the chair also now comes in black, which looks equally as chic.

Homebase has now expanded it's very popular boucle range to boast 13 items, with numerous chair styles ranging from mid century to more modern chunky styles. The most decadent style (which I'm kind of jealous I don't own) is the Brody Boucle Tub Armchair, which at £275 is hugely cheaper than other similar designs.

💰 Best deal we've found

Homebase currently has 20% off a huge selection of its stylish furniture at the moment, including a range of pieces from it's boucle collection.

The Tori Boucle Tub Chair is now down to an incredibly affordable £120 (from £150) and we think you'll struggle to find another option as affordable and well made. I'd definitely recommend having a browse of the Homebase sale and have put a few of my other boucle chair favourites below.
