Burkina Faso v Ethiopia

Saladin ready to give his all

Africa Cup of Nations Group C opening round draws for both Burkina Faso and Ethiopia will make for an interesting tussle when the two sides meet on Friday. Alain Traore netted in the fourth minute of injury-time to secure a 1-1 draw for the Stallions against 10-man Nigeria on Monday. Meanwhile, AFCON minnows Ethiopia also held reigning champions Zambia to a 1-1 draw at the Mbombela Stadium, despite the Walya Antelopes having their goalkeeper sent off in the first half. With the Super Eagles and the Coppers Bullets set to lock horns three hours earlier for their second match of the tournament, Ethiopia and Burkina Faso will know exactly what they need to do if either of them hope to progress to the knockout stages. In team news, Stallions shot-stopper Jemal Tassew will definitely miss Friday's encounter at the Mbombela Stadium having seen red against Chipolopolo. Zerihun Tadelle is likely to start in his stead after a solid showing off the bench. Ethiopia coach Bishaw Sewnet will again be looking to Saladin Said to lead the attack after an enterprising performance last time out, despite his saved penalty attempt. After his impressive match-winning effort against Nigerians, Traore is likely to have earned a starting berth for Burkina Faso, along with fellow substitute Wilfried Sanou.
