Burning Man Attendees Can Charter a Helicopter to Arrive in Style
Travelers heading to this year's Burning Man festival in Nevada's Black Rock Desert can get there in style aboard Coastal Helicopters Sikorsky S-76.
The California-based company announced this weeks it will begin chartering private helicopter flights to and from the event to allow for a quicker and smoother journey.
The model of the helicopter is the same as those flown by the British Royal Family and by Donald Trump, with a large cabin that boasts around two feet of legroom per passenger and enough baggage compartment space to carry up to 600 pounds of supplies. The model is also noted for its safety, thanks to a twin-engine that adds an additional safety measure.
The helicopter can fit eight passengers and is only available for a full private charter, with prices starting around $10,000 for a one-way flight, and $20,000 for round-trip.
Flights will initially go between Black Rock City Municipal Airport and Reno-Tahoe International Airport, and may extend to additional airports like Truckee Tahoe Airport.
Eric Haymes, Coastal Helicopters's director of marketing, told Travel + Leisure there could be as many as five to six flights operating each day if all goes according to plan. The company will also be operating flights mid-week for people who need or want to leave the event early.
