One man was taken to hospital after his vehicle collided with a concrete barrier in a parking lot and burst into flames in Toronto Thursday night.

It happened at around 10:30 p.m. near Moore Avenue and Bayview Avenue, Toronto police said in a post on X, formerly Twitter.

Bystanders put out the fire before firefighters arrived, a spokesperson for Toronto Fire Services said.

Firefighters then spent close to half an hour extricating the victim, who was rushed to hospital via an emergency run.

Police say the man suffered non-life threatening injuries.
