MANILA, Philippines — Armed Forces of the Philippines – Public Affairs Office (AFP-PAO) Chief Col. Edgard Arevalo is confident that nothing will change in the recovery and rehabilitation plan for conflict-torn Marawi City even if the Commission on Appointments (CA) rejected the appointment of former Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Judy Taguiwalo.
Arevalo said, the AFP as always is ready to cooperate with anyone appointed to the position or to any member of the Duterte Cabinet.
“Sino man ang ma-appoint dyan ang AFP is more than willing to be a part of basic services that our government is offering to our people,” said Col. Arevalo.
The official said the armed forces will remain as the lead agency in the rehabilitation of Marawi City.
DSWD, being a member of ‘Task Force Bangon Marawi’, will manage the distribution of food and construction of temporary shelters for affected residents in the war against government troops and the Maute-ISIS terrorists. — Lea Ylagan | UNTV News & Rescue
