The Court of Appeals has ruled in favor of Taguig City on the issue of ownership of the posh Bonifacio Global City and the enlisted men’s barangays.
In a resolution issued on Wednesday by the CA special former sixth division penned by Associate Justice Edwin Sorongon, the court granted the motion of Taguig City to dismiss the appeal of Makati City to the decision of Pasig City Regional Trial Court due to forum shopping.
CA took notice of the Supreme Court’s decision last year which found Makati City guilty of forum shopping for initiating simultaneous appeals with the RTC and the appellate court.
As a consequence, the original ruling of the Pasig RTC in 2011 which granted Taguig City jurisdiction over the contested areas is now considered final. — UNTV News & Rescue
