Newly-crowned champions Juventus were foiled in their record-breaking Serie A points bid when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Cagliari on Saturday. Juve secured their 29th league title last weekend but Antonio Conte's side had a new objective: beating the 91 points garnered in 2005/06, when they were stripped of their Serie A title for match-fixing. But that feat has now alluded them with this stalemate in which Victor Ibarbo's 12th minute goal was cancelled out by Juventus' Montenegrin striker Mirko Vucinic just after the hour mark. The draw also brought to an end Juventus' hopes of extending their winning streak to 10, a sequence not accomplished since the 1931-1932 season. While Juventus failed in their bid to create club history Saturday's late game saw Catania climb to 55 points for the first time ever with a 1-0 win over Pescara.
