The sky burned red as a fast-moving brush fire erupted in Santa Clarita, California, on Wednesday, August 12, and grew to 10,500 acres on August 13 with no containment as of Thursday morning, reports said.

The Lake Fire was first reported on Wednesday evening near Lake Hughes and spread overnight, destroying three homes in the area and threatening another 5,000 structures, according to reports.

Evacuation orders were still in place along Lake Hughes Road, Lake Elizabeth Road, and West Trail Mountain View Road, according to local reports.
