Esteban Guzman, a 27-year-old full-time systems administrator, often works construction on weekends. He and his mother were clearing a yard in Running Springs, a town located 80 miles east of Los Angeles, when a woman approached them and started to attack them verbally.

Guzman told the Guardian that these types of interactions have become “increasingly regular” since Donald Trump won the 2016 presidential election.

The video shows the woman pointing her middle finger in Guzman’s face and calling him a “rapist” and “drug dealer.”

The video, which was originally shared in the early morning of June 25, shows Guzman asking the woman why she hates them. She replies, “Because you’re Mexicans.”

Guzman attempts to tell her that “we’re honest people.”

The woman responds, “Yeah, rapists. And animals. Drug dealers.”

The remarks the woman makes have drawn a comparison to Trump’s rhetoric. He has called Mexicans “rapists” and illegal immigrants “animals” in the past.

Guzman told the Guardian that the woman approached him and his mother and called them illegals. He said, “I told her: ‘I’m a United States citizen.’ And she obviously didn’t believe me.”

President Trump recently signed an executive order to reverse his administration’s policy of separating children from their parents when they cross the U.S. border illegally.

One of the president’s campaign promises involved building a border wall. At a rally in California, Trump told his supporters, “We’re going to build the wall. We have no choice.” There are estimates of the wall costing between $8 billion and $67 billion
