“When Calls the Heart”'s Mamie Laverock says her 'heart is full' as family closes GoFundMe after 5-story fall
The decision came after the actress, who fell from a hospital balcony in May, celebrated her 20th birthday.
Mamie Laverock is thanking everyone who contributed to her GoFundMe page more than two months after she was hospitalized for an unspecified medical emergency and then fell from a five-story balcony.
The When Calls the Heart star seems to have written a message of gratitude to those who donated to her recovery in a July 17 update posted on the page.
“Thank you so much. I don't even know what to say. My heart is full,” Laverock wrote. “Thank you again. I have no words to describe my gratitude. Love you guys. Thank you. MAMIE.”

Alongside her note, Laverock’s mom, Nicole Rockmann, and stepdad, Rob Compton, announced that they would be shutting down the page, which had surpassed its goal of $30,000 CAD. “The Fund has now closed,” they wrote. “Please know how much you helped this family in our hardest circumstances. Thank you for caring.”
Laverock, who stars as Rosaleen Sullivan on the Hallmark series, was hospitalized in Winnipeg on May 11 before being transferred to a hospital in Vancouver. Her family said the 20-year-old actress was receiving "intensive treatment" there when she was "escorted out of a secure unit of the hospital and taken up to a balcony walkway from which she fell five stories" on May 26.
Her family told the Los Angeles Times that Laverock’s fall was not “intended” or a suicide attempt and that they plan to take legal action against the hospital. Due to patient privacy, the hospital has stated that it cannot comment on the incident.
The injuries Laverock sustained from the fall have required her to undergo multiple surgeries. “Her body has been shattered," her parents wrote in a June update. "She has undergone two 11-hour surgeries with two doctors working on her, a three-hour surgery, and another surgery today. We have nothing but gratitude for the doctors and nurses who have been exemplary in her care since May 26."

Mamie Laverock on 'When Calls the Heart'The decision to close the GoFundMe page comes after the actress celebrated her "miracle birthday" earlier this month. A July 14 update on the page was filled with images of her 20th birthday, including Laverock surrounded by loved ones and smiling in bed, as well as a snapshot of her party and When Calls the Heart–inspired birthday cake.
The post read, in part, "Mamie says I love you."
