Cambodia’s IG Tech forms insurtech JV with Malaysia’s Aetins

Malaysia’s Aetins has banded together with Cambodia’s IG Tech to form a joint venture for digitised insurance solutions

Malaysian insurance company Aetins and Cambodian information technology firm IG Tech have announced a joint venture (JV) that will be called IG Aetins Asia, as reported by Khmer Times. The JV will adopt the latest technologies in the sector to improve business performance and efficiency and offer insurance solutions implemented and supported by Cambodian technology, according to a statement by Kim Puthkiry, chairman and president of IG International Group, which owns IG Tech.

“The company has already established a ‘Centre of Excellence’ to serve clients across Asia-Pacific. The Center of Excellence will serve clients in any country where the IG Group has partners,” said Puthkiry about the JV.

The Center of Excellence will still maintain Aetins’ current suite of solutions, but also plan to develop new ones, including blockchain based technology. The technology will provide digitised insurance solutions to meet the market trends and needs of fast, reliable and time-saving solutions.

The developer of the products will be Aetins, powered by Oracle and Java technologies.

The center also plans to install, implement, and support Oracle and Java technologies for insurtech.
