Canoeists clinch S’pore’s first three SEA Games medals

The Singapore canoeing team has won the country’s first three SEA Games medals, hours ahead of Friday’s opening ceremony.

Lucas Teo clinched the silver at the K11000m race.

In the K2 event, the duo of Daniel Ang and Brandon Ooi came in third.

The other bronze came from the men’s team (Mohd Syaheenul Aiman, Tay Zi Qiang, Daniel Ang and Lucas Teo) in the K4 1000m event.

Meanwhile, Singapore women’s water polo team trashed Malaysia 26-6 on Friday morning.

"We were nervous in the first two quarters. But we got better. It is normal as this is our first SEA Games match. Although, we played well, we need to improve our passing. We will be ready for Indonesia," said  Singapore coach, Luo Nan.
