One of the giants in the Southeast Asia fighting world, Chatri Sityodtong, the Founder and CEO of ONE Championship, offered his condolences to the family and expressed support for a Singaporean fighting community that is experiencing a moment of sadness and deep internal reflection.

Then, Sityodtong wrote a lengthly critique that finds its power in its thoughtfulness. The Facebook post heavily criticises the Asia Fighting Championship and calls for harsh punishment for what Sityodtong deems to be an unacceptable level of recklessness.

Lazada to expand its Taobao Collection further into Southeast Asia

The Alibaba-owned e-commerce store Lazada is expanding its Taobao Collection to Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand, according to Reuters. The expansion comes after the Taobao Collection was initially launched in Malaysia and Singapore earlier this year.

Taobao is the flagship e-commerce platform for Alibaba. Lazada sells products from the site and localises the product to match the locale. For example, in Singapore, people can buy clothing, mobile accessories and kids toys from Taobao via Lazada.

According to the article, the Taobao pages will be translated into local languages.

Low iPhone 8 pre-sale orders spur stock slides in Asia

The stock prices of Asian companies tasked with manufacturing the next generation iPhone are taking a beating after news continues to leak that enthusiasm for the iPhone 8 is tempered.

According to Bloomberg, Taiwan is especially vulnerable to investor skepticism because iPhone manufacturers play a large role in the country.

Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. has fallen 10 per cent while its fellow Taiwanese iPhone manufacturer Pegatron has seen a 12 per cent drop in its stock. LG Innotek Co. of South Korea also saw a 12 per cent stock drop.

Reports are emerging that iPhone enthusiasm in both the US and China is substantially lower than it was for the 6 or 7 models.

Ohmyhome helps Singaporeans transact over S$100 million (US$74 million) worth of HDB deals

In its first year, Ohmyhome, a Singaporean startup that helps make the process of buying and HDB flat more efficient, announced today it has completed over 500 transactions worth over S$100 million (US$74 million). The company also said that listings on the platform are online for an average of 33 days before getting sold, which is one-third of the market average.

The startup has built a DIY platform that takes people through an HDB purchasing process that can be fairly complicated and confusing as it requires a lot of bureaucracy.

Indonesian online marketplace Bukalapak launched a new B2B service BukaPengadaan

Bukalapak, the leading C2C marketplace in Indonesia, has launched a procurement service for corporate clients, according to a report in DailySocial.

The service allows corporations to purchase supplies in bulk, and clients are able to pay before or after the goods get delivered.
