Arsenal have been drawn against Manchester City in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.

The Gunners edged past Premier League champions Liverpool on penalties following a goalless draw at Anfield on Thursday night, and their reward is to host the team that have won this competition in each of the last three seasons.

City eased past top-flight rivals Burnley at Turf Moor on Wednesday thanks to a brace from Raheem Sterling and first goal in English football for summer signing Ferran Torres.

It is another clash against his former club and mentor Pep Guardiola for Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta.

Meanwhile, Europa League qualifiers Tottenham are on the road against Championship Stoke City after seeing off rivals Chelsea in a shootout on Tuesday, while Brentford - through to the quarters for the first time after brushing aside Fulham in a west London derby - entertain Newcastle United.

Stoke dumped Aston Villa out of the fourth round thanks to Sam Vokes' first-half goal, while Newcastle needed penalties to eliminate fourth-tier Newport County.

Manchester United will also take on Everton at Goodison Park after beating Brighton 3-0, with the Toffees thrashing West Ham 4-1 courtesy of another Dominic Calvert-Lewin hat-trick.
