Cathay Cineplex to open at Parkway Parade in September
Cathay Cineplex will be opening its eighth cinema at Parkway Parade shopping mall this September, according to a press release on Friday (18 August).
The new cineplex will feature seven halls and can accommodate 880 cinema-goers. This is also the first outlet that will be featuring the Assistive Listening Device system for hearing and visually impaired individuals.
“The system uses infrared to provide clear high-quality sounds with maximum intelligibility and is designed for low distortion and high clarity,” said the release.
Cathay Cineplex currently has seven outlets in Singapore and they are located at The Cathay, Cathay Cineleisure Orchard, Causeway Point, AMK Hub, Downtown East, West Mall and Jem.
Parkway Parade is located at 80 Marine Parade Road and officially opened in December 1983. This is the first time that the mall will be having a cinema as one of its anchor tenants.
