Dozens of patrol vehicles descended on the Strip after authorities received reports of an active gunman near the Route 91 Harvest Festival and Police have said a suspect ‘was down’.
And the police have urged bystanders not to film and share videos from the city that could reveal their locations and aid the attackers.
Some officers took cover behind their vehicles while others carrying assault rifles ran into the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino.

Back in May, Las Vegas police revealed they were stepping up patrols after a chilling ISIS video was discovered that called for lone wolf car and knife attacks on US icons and the Las Vegas strip. The 44 minute video showed the famous Caesar’s Palace, the Bellagio Hotel and other scenes from the city.
However, CNN reports that a single shooter, who has been identified as 64-year-old Stephen Paddock, was positioned in a hotel room and shooting from above the crowd gathered outside the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino at Las Vegas Village.
He has been killed and Police have also identified a woman who was traveling with Paddock and is believed to be an accomplice in the shooting.
