Celebrity Race Across the World's stunning behind the scene pictures
Contestant Kelly Brook has shared some new snaps from the race
Here are some of the amazing behind the scenes pictures from Celebrity Race Across the World.
Kelly Brook has given Celebrity Race Across the World fans a peek with never before seen photos amid her journey from Brazil to Chile.
The model and TV star is taking part in the new series of the BBC show with her husband Jeremy Parisi. They are racing from Belem, Northern Brazil across the length of South America to the finishing point in the Andes, Frutillar in Southern Chile, and are up against Jeff Brazier and his son Freddy, cousins Kola Bokinni and Mary Ellen and couple Sam Vaughan and Scott Mills.
As the show got under way this week, Brook has shared snaps showing her unwinding in Braganca, Brazil in a moment of downtime. The model packed a digital camera with her to ensure she could document their trip. Ahead of filming the show, she said: "To be honest, there's not a lot of room to put anything. I’ve got my little digital camera. I'm going to take loads of pictures, i’m going to try and get into my photography while we're out there."
Behind the scenes of Celebrity Race Across the World
One image showed the swimsuit-clad star hanging towels on a line in a garden as she enjoyed a spot of sunshine, and another showed her taking in the view from the window of a house covered in greenery. In another, Parisi was sat on the porch surrounded by tropical plants.
“Living our best backpackers life in this jungle paradise,” the model wrote.
The second set of pictures, from Canoa Quebrada, Brazil, showed a stunning beach and Parisi tucking into a huge plate of delicious-looking food. Another showed the couple kissing, with a huge flower tucked behind Brook’s ear, as they celebrated completing the first leg of the competition.
She wrote that they “smashed it” and that she was “over the moon”, adding: “Let’s keep it moving baby!!” While Brook shared behind the scenes photos, she was careful not to spoil what was going to come later in the pre-recorded series.
We will have to wait to see how they get along.
Kelly Brook speaks about filming
Brook has given a few hints into how the couple tackle upcoming challenges in the series. Admittedly, at times, it become the "honeymoon from hell" for the star.
The pair tied the knot in Italy two years ago but have not had the time to take a honeymoon, so Race Across the World was their opportunity to try a honeymoon with a twist.
Brook told Closer: “We hadn't had a honeymoon and I said to Jeremy we should consider this as a fun alternative, a once in a lifetime experience. At times, it was the honeymoon from hell - at other times it was absolutely glorious. It's got to be the most memorable honeymoon ever.”
Brook has also said that as well as the race being a honeymoon of sorts, she “just really wanted us to go on an adventure together” and that they fancied something different.
Speaking before setting off, she explained: "I just knew that this is the kind of trip that we’d never organise. We’re here in a hotel, and usually I’d be on my phone, I’d be researching the best restaurants in the area, I’d be talking to the concierge to find out about day trips, if there’s any boats we could be chartering!
"I’m so on it with the travel it’s such a freeing experience not to be doing anything. It’s like a holiday from organising a holiday.”
Brook has also told how she has taken a lot from the race, which was completed before the series aired. She told Radio Times magazine she was happy being without a phone on their travels and that she enjoyed going off the beaten track, and that it has changed the way she gets around now that she is back home.
“I never travelled on public transport because I was paranoid about being recognised, but I got back from the race and went straight on the Tube,” she said. “I get buses and trains everywhere now and it’s so liberating.”
She also said the programme “came at the right time” for her. “I was confident enough to be a bit more open about who I am,” Brook explained.
“For the last few weeks, I wore a really unflattering but very comfy jumpsuit. Equally, if I wanted an upgrade on an overnight bus, it wasn’t about being a diva, it was about being comfortable!”
