Celine Tam goes back to school

21 Sep - What is a nine year-old Hong Kong girl to do after being eliminated from "America's Got Talent"?

Go back to school, of course.

As reported on Mingpao, singing talent Celine Tam who became the first Chinese contestant on the show to receive the Golden Buzzer, returned to Hong Kong after being eliminated in Week 2 of the semifinals.

With the school starting back again in September, Celine finally returned to her ordinary schedule and is happy to see her friends again.

Speaking to the media about Celine's unsuccessful attempt to win at "America's Got Talent", father and voice coach Steve Tam said that the experience Celine got from joining the competition is much more important than the result.

"She performed well. In my mind, my daughter is always the winner," he said.

Steve said that although Celine has to now return to school and her home life, the family will continue to support her and whatever she wants to do in the future.

"She still loves to sing. Singing and dancing are two of her favourite things," he added.

Season 12 of "America's Got Talent" recently ended its run with ventriloquist Darcy Lynne Farmer becoming its winner, while Filipina-American Angelica Hale was announced the first runner-up.
