GELANG PATAH: The recruitment of more than 200 auxiliary police personnel for Forest City will help its developer, Country Garden Pacificview (CGPV) carry out crime prevention measures.
The 260 officers will be gradually stationed at key projects currently being developed in Forest City. They will conduct patrols and be on the lookout for unsavoury activities in their areas.
CGPV executive director Datuk Daing Malek A Rahaman said for the first phase, some 20 auxiliary policemen will be deployed around Forest City.
"The formation of this force is to complement the existing security operations (already) in place, (comprising) patrol guards and closed circuit television security surveillances," he said
Daing Malek said as the Forest City development progresses, there will be a need for additional security, including from the auxiliary police.
"That is where the police force comes in, as they will determine the number of auxiliary officers (needed) for Forest City's future needs," he said after the launch of the Forest City auxiliary police force unit at the Forest City Phoenix Hotel recently.
Also present was Bukit Aman Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department director Datuk Rusli Ahmad.
Rusli said he acknowledges the importance of auxiliary police units, as they are the “eyes and ears” of the police force.
