Free cups of artisan coffee will be served to passengers and airport staff at Changi Airport on the mornings of 24 and 25 November to celebrate the airport receiving its 500th best airport award.

In a statement on Tuesday, Changi Airport Group (CAG) said that coffee kiosks have been set up at nine locations across the airport terminals in both public and transport areas. These kiosks will be serving coffee from 6am to 11am on both days.

CAG CEO Lee Seow Hiang said, “This coffee giveaway is our small way, from CAG and all our partner agencies at the airport, of showing our appreciation to our passengers and members of the airport community who have supported us deeply over the last three decades.”

Airport staff were also each given an Adidas backpack as a token of appreciation. The airport is manned by more than 40,000 airport staff from 200 airport agencies.

The 500th award to Changi Airport was presented by Business Traveller (China), which named the Singapore airport the “Best Airport in the World” for the 10th time.

In this year alone, Changi Airport has won 22 accolades so far.

Changi Airport is the world’s seventh busiest airport for international traffic, with 54.1 million passengers passing through its gates in 2014.

Terminal 4, the airport’s newest development, will be opening in 2017.
