Charles and Diana's wedding day will be not be recreated in full in 'The Crown'

From Harper's BAZAAR

One of the most highly anticipated storylines for fans in the upcoming season of The Crown will surely be the blossoming relationship between Prince Charles and Diana Spencer. However, it has been revealed that the couple's wedding day will not be depicted in full in the series, although we will get to see actress Emma Corrin wearing a replica of Diana's famous gown.

According to a new report from the latest issue of Town & Country – which sees the actors who play Diana, Charles and Camilla on the cover – the wedding day will not be recreated in full.

"While the union was one of the most watched events of its time, it’s one major moment that’s not recreated in the upcoming fourth season of The Crown," the report explained.

However, as has already been seen in the trailer for the upcoming season, we will get to see Emma Corrin wearing a replica of the wedding dress that Diana wore on her big day.

"The Emanuels, who designed the original, gave us the patterns, and then it was made for me," Corrin told British Vogue.

"We were filming the scene when you first see her in the wedding dress — I think it was Lancaster House in London — and I had a team of about 10 people helping me put it on, because it’s massive. I walked out and everyone went completely silent. More than anything else I wear in the series, it’s so…It’s her."

The season will depict the early days of the famous royal couple's relationship, covering the time period from 1977 to 1990. It will then introduce their sons, Prince William and Prince Harry – and will also track a number of important political moments during that period, which saw Margaret Thatcher as Prime Minister.

Season four of The Crown will be released in full on Netflix on 15 November. For everything you need to know about the season, head this way.
