Check out Malaysia's eccentric national costume for Miss Universe

The national costume and evening gown for Miss Universe Malaysia 2016 Kiran Jassal had been unveiled yesterday at Marini's On 57, Kuala Lumpur, and it is certainly a jaw-dropping sight!

Designed by the talented designer duo Rizman Ruzaini, the national costume is a majestic glittery silver jumpsuit bearing the iconic landmark of Malaysia – The Petronas Twin Towers – on her shoulders and sleeves, giving an elegant and confident futuristic look!

Embellished with gorgeous multi-coloured Swarovski diamonds, the jumpsuit is also complemented with a diamond choker, representing the sky bridge that connects the two towers.

Meanwhile, the evening gown is a sparkly silver mermaid dress decorated with diamonds and crystals too!

Not many people are impressed with the national costume as they deemed it to be too exaggerated, but do bear in mind that in 2015, Thailand's bizarre tuk-tuk dress won Best National Costume at Miss Universe pageant.

The 20-year-old beauty queen is expected wear the two gorgeous creations at the 65th annual Miss Universe Pageant on 30 January 2017 in Manila, Philippines.
