Chemed posts 4Q profit

CINCINNATI (AP) _ Chemed Corp. (CHE) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $32.2 million.

On a per-share basis, the Cincinnati-based company said it had profit of $1.94. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and stock option expense, came to $2.10 per share.

The operator of the Roto-Rooter plumbing service and Vitas Healthcare hospices posted revenue of $403.5 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported profit of $108.7 million, or $6.48 per share. Revenue was reported as $1.58 billion.

Chemed expects full-year earnings in the range of $7.80 to $8 per share.

Chemed shares have increased 7 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $171.90, a climb of 28 percent in the last 12 months.
