Cheryl certainly made an impression on one particular audience member when she accidentally soaked them with wine during Sunday’s performance of 2:22 A Ghost Story.

The audience member in question took to social media to reveal how they had been “soaked head-to-toe,” with many fans joking that the Sound of the Underground hitmaker had “blessed” her.

Recalling what happened on Twitter, they explained that as part of the show, Cheryl had to knock a glass of wine off the stage and into the front row and it was just her luck that it landed on her.

She jokingly tweeted: “Just been soaked head to toe with wine. Thanks Cheryl xo”

The incident came after the former Girls Aloud singer, 39, made her West End debut in the thriller play the night before, marking the start of her three-month stint playing the role of Jenny, which she took over from ex Love Island host Laura Whitmore.

Her initial casting announcement raised eyebrows as the Geordie star has no prior acting experience

So far however she has proved her critics wrong and been winning rave reviews.

The production has however been subject to a last-minute change after one of Cheryl’s co-stars was forced to pull out.

Hugo Chegwin has withdrawn from his role as Ben opposite Cheryl due to illness during the rehearsal period and been replaced by former EastEnders actor Jake Wood.

People Just Do Nothing star Chegwin, 37, said: “I’ve had the flu. Due to being poorly during the rehearsal period, I’ve had to pull out of the play.”

Adding: “I’m absolutely gutted about this and I wish everyone involved in the play the best of luck. The cast are truly amazing.”
