A child has suffered serious injuries in a crash between a car and a taxi in Leeds, police have said.

Emergency services were called to reports of a collision in Horsforth New Road near Dawsons Corner in Rodley just before 17:00 GMT on Monday.

West Yorkshire Police said several people, including "a very young child", were taken to hospital.

According to West Yorkshire Police, a number of roads were closed and drivers had been urged to avoid the area to allow for recovery work to take place.
