China warns tourists to be careful when buying electronics in Singapore

Chinese tourists have been warned to be careful when buying electronic goods in Singapore.

China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a notice on their website on Wednesday evening asking Singapore-bound tourists to exercise caution when buying electronics from merchants who have received many complaints.

"There have been many reports of incidents of fraud by Chinese tourists who purchased mobile phones and electronics in Singapore," read the notice.

This comes after reports of a Chinese tourist being refunded over $1,000 in coins after an overpayment dispute with a Sim Lim Vendor and of a Vietnamese tourist getting down on his knees to beg for his money back after being charged an extra $1,500 for the warranty of an $950-iPhone.
