Chris Weidman is doing OK. The former UFC champion underwent surgery to repair a broken leg that occurred at UFC 261, and is resting in the hospital.
Weidman's wife, Marivi, posted a message on Instagram giving an update on Chris' status. Marivi said "everything went well" with Chris' surgery, and that they've both been "blown away" by people who want to help.
It's unclear how long Weidman will be sidelined with his injury.
Chris Weidman stretchered off at UFC 261
Weidman's fight against Uriah Hall lasted just 17 seconds Saturday after Weidman broke his leg on his first kick of the contest. Weidman's right leg connected with Hall's shin. Weidman's bone snapped upon impact. A cast was put on Weidman's leg, and he had to be stretchered out of the Octagon.
After the fight ended, Hall said he felt bad for Weidman and that he owes him a rematch once Weidman can get back into the cage.
