Writer-Director Christopher McQuarrie announced on Twitter on Monday that he would be back for Tim Cruise's next "Mission Impossible."

McQuarrie looks set to embark on the 6th installment of the action thriller, after writing and directing the summer blockbuster "Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation." McQuarrie posted a simple message to his Twitter account: "Mission: Accepted #MI6," though it is unclear whether he will return as a writer, director or both. Cruise has also committed to the upcoming project.

The next installment will hope for the same success as its predecessor, which got off to a fast start at the international box office -- selling nearly twice as much abroad as at home.

McQuarrie won an Oscar for his original screenplay for "The Usual Suspects" and also wrote the scripts for "Jack The Giant Slayer" (2013) and "The Tourist" (2010).
