CIMB-Principal appoints new CEO of Asean

SINGAPORE (Dec 13): After more than three years at his post at CIMB-Principal Asset Management as CEO of Asean, Alejandro Echegorri (main image) will be taking on a new role as CIO for Principal International (Asia) with effect from Feb 2019.

CIMB-Principal Asset Management is jointly owned by Principal Financial Group, the parent company of Principal International, and CIMB Group Holdings.

In his new role, Echegorri will be collaborating with investment teams throughout the CIMB-Principal Asset Management group of companies, as well as across Asia to help Principal enhance its focus on delivering performance for its customers, stakeholders and investors.

Juan Ignacio Eyzaguirre Baraona has been appointed to succeed Echegorri, who will continue to oversee businesses across the region in his new capacity as CIMB-Principal Asset Management’s CEO of Asean.

His scope of regional work includes Principal Asset Management Berhad and CIMB-Principal Islamic Asset Management Sdn Bhd in Malaysia; PT CIMB-Principal Asset Management in Indonesia; CIMB-Principal Asset Management Company Limited in Thailand; and CIMB-Principal Asset Management Pte Ltd in Singapore.
