Climate Activist Greta Thunberg Urges US Lawmakers to Listen to Scientists and Take Action
Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg, 16, spoke before the US Congress House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis hearing in Washington on September 18, alongside three other young environmental advocates.
In her opening remarks, Thunberg opted to submit the IPCC Special Report on Global Warming to the record as her testimony instead of a speech. “I am submitting this report as my testimony because I don’t want you to listen to me, I want you to listen to the scientists and I want you to unite behind the science, and then I want you to take real action,” said Thunberg.
