SINGAPORE — A 15-year-old male teenager is being investigated for selling drugs to a 14-year-old female abuser, after the most recent island-wide enforcement operation by the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB).

In a media release on Friday (22 November), CNB said that it arrested 70 suspected drug offenders during the operation, which was carried out from Monday morning to Friday morning in areas such as Bedok, Choa Chu Kang, Tampines, Telok Blangah and Yishun.

Drugs worth about S$71,000 were seized. They include about 9 grams of new psychoactive substances, 20g of heroin, 704g of Ice (methamphetamine) and an Ecstasy tablet.

The amount of Ice seized is sufficient to feed the addiction of about 402 abusers for a week.

“Among the 70 arrested is a 15-year-old Singaporean male suspected drug trafficker who is being investigated for selling Ice to a 14-year-old Singaporean female suspected drug abuser,” CNB said in the media release.

Drug paraphernalia seized

In another instance, CNB officers arrested a 22-year-old Singaporean woman and a 32-year-old Singapore man in a residential unit at Yishun Avenue 11 on Wednesday.

They seized about 100g of Ice, an Ecstasy tablet and green powdery substances suspected to contain controlled drugs. Drug paraphernalia such as a digital weighing scale and drug-smoking apparatuses were also found in the unit.

In another case on Thursday evening, officers tailed a 29-year-old Singaporean man when he left a residential block at Yishun Street 81. The suspect’s van was intercepted along Mandai Road, and about 580g of Ice, a digital weighing scale and a drug-taking utensil were found in it.

Investigations into the drug activities of all the suspects are ongoing.
