Coachella 2013 to go on sale May 17

Music fans: mark your calendars. The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival will once again be split into two separate weekends in 2013, with the same lineup for each.

On Monday, the festival's official website announced that next year's event will run from April 12-14 and April 19-21. Advance tickets go on sale this Thursday at 10 pm PDT, while general passes will be released early in 2013.

Yet festival-goers can expect to shell out even more cash this year: a three-day general admission wristband will sell for $349 with added service fees; a weekend pass during 2012's presale cost $315 -- a $34 increase. The VIP tickets will sell for $799. Last year's sold for about $710.

Last month, more than 100,000 people flooded the Southern California desert for two soldout Coachella weekends, headlined by the Black Keys, Radiohead, and Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg, who unveiled a controversial hologram of the late MC Tupac Shakur during their performance.

Other acts were Bon Iver, Frank Ocean, St. Vincent, Justice, Mazzy Star, Arctic Monkeys, The Shins, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, and Florence and the Machine. To watch sets from the festival, visit Coachella's YouTube page.
