Coastal Carolina quarterback Grayson McCall won't be in the 2022 NFL draft.

McCall said Tuesday that he would be coming back to school for another season. McCall was eligible to enter the draft and has been one of the most efficient passers in the country over the past two seasons.

“I am coming back to play another year of college football and it will be in Conway, South Carolina,” McCall wrote. “When I say I piss teal, I mean it. One last ride baby! Let’s do it! Chants forever.”

Coastal Carolina has gone 22-3 over the past two seasons. The Chanticleers capped an 11-2 season in 2021 with a win over Northern Illinois in the Cure Bowl on Friday night. McCall was 22-of-30 passing for 315 yards and four touchdowns in that game. He also rushed for 40 yards.

McCall played in 11-of-13 games in 2021 and was 176-of-241 passing for 2,873 yards and 27 TDs to just three interceptions. Those numbers were improvements on the very good numbers he posted in 2020 in his first season as CCU’s starter.

In 2020, McCall was 172-of-250 passing for 2,488 yards and 26 TDs while also throwing only three interceptions a season ago. McCall is the maestro for coach Jamey Chadwell’s multi-faceted run-pass option offense and could be an appealing QB for NFL teams as more pro offenses incorporate run-pass reads into their playbooks.

A native of Charlotte, McCall was a two-star prospect in the class of 2019 and had just three offers. Army is the only other FBS school listed on his Rivals profile with an offer.
