A legendary Egyptian goalkeeper made a cataclysmic error while trying to goad an opponent during the semi-final of the African Confederations Cup.
Veteran goalkeeper Essam El-Hadary - a 39-year-old who made over 500 appearances African giants Al-Ahly and played 138 times for his national side - made the gaffe while turning out for Sudanese champions Al Merreikh against Congolese side AC Leopard de Dolisie.
With the scores locked at 1-1 late in the second half the match appeared to be heading for a draw - but El-Hadary changed all that as he decided to bounce the ball in front of an opponent while standing on his own goal line.
The Egyptian keeper totally misjudged the bounce of the ball, however, spilling it out of his hands and gifting striker Cesaire Gandze perhaps the easiest goal of his career.
All is not lost quite yet for Al Merreikh, however: the tournament semi-finals are two-legged affairs, and the Sudanese side will have a chance to recover from the 2-1 deficit.
