Colombia druglord Lopez Londono to be extradited to US: judge

Colombian drug trafficker Henry de Jesus Lopez Londono was arrested in Argentina in 2011

A judge in Argentina on Friday granted a US extradition request for Colombian drug kingpin Henry de Jesus Lopez Londono, reputedly one of the most notorious cocaine traffickers in the Americas. Known by the nickname "Mi Sangre" ("my blood"), Lopez Londono was the head of the Los Urabenos drug cartel, one of the most feared in Colombia. Since his arrest in Argentina in 2011, US authorities have sought his extradition to Florida to face drug smuggling and conspiracy charges. Following a hearing which began on Tuesday, Judge Sebastian Ramos decided early on Friday to agree to Washington's extradition request, the court announced. It was not immediately clear when Lopez Londono would be extradited to Florida, where his trial would take place, or whether he would be permitted to appeal the decision.
