Condos incorporate luxury fittings to attract more buyers

 By Romesh Navaratnarajah: To attract more buyers at its relaunch this weekend, a condo project at Leonie Hill called The Lumos (pictured) is fitting some units with luxury brands Fendi and Kenzo.The 53-unit condo was first marketed in 2007 and 18 units were sold. But sales were frozen as the developer reviewed its marketing strategies and waited for the property market to pick up.Koh Brothers Development and Heeton Land collaborated to furnish two units on the fourth floor of the 36-storey development. One was fitted with Fendi casa furniture and another with Kenzo maison trimmings. In addition, they will feature imported items like beds, sofas, tables and rugs. The four-bedroom Fendi unit measures 2,433 sq ft and cost almost half a million dollars to furnish, while the three-bedroom 1,755 sq ft unit with Kenzo fittings cost nearly S$400,000 to do up. Francis Koh, Managing Director and CEO of Koh Brothers Group, commented, "We're not just selling a house, we're selling a lifestyle. We want to introduce something new to Singapore buyers so they have more choices."According to Danny Low, CEO of Heeton Holdings, the two exclusive units may be priced between S$5 million and S$7 million. The developers kept mum on whether they had cut prices but the units will likely be more attractive as they now feature luxury fixtures.Meanwhile, other units such as one-, two-, three- and four-bedders, along with two-storey duplex apartments will, also be up for grabs at the project's relaunch.
