After the madness that was Conor McGregor rampaging through the Barclays Center after UFC 223 media day and leaving two injured fighters and three canceled fights in his wake, everyone has wondered what the Irish fighter would have to say on social media.
Would “Mystic Mac” shrug off the melee with indifference? Would he post something taking aim at the new lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, who defeated Al Iaquinta to claim the title that McGregor was stripped of by the UFC? With McGregor, you never really know what’s coming next. What we do know is that McGregor faces two felony charges for criminal mischief and 10 misdemeanors. He’ll be back in court on June 14 and could get up to 11 years in prison for his role in the incident. Although, TMZ suggests that McGregor will cop to a plea deal in order to avoid going to trial.
Nevertheless, the former featherweight and lightweight champion broke his silence on Instagram.
In a pair of posts Monday, McGregor only posted emojis rather than any actual text. The first image appears to be of McGregor leaving the court house and has a prayer hands emoji caption. The other image is of his girlfriend and son and seems to show McGregor in good spirits with a heart emoji as the caption.
This is obviously better than anything that resembled what took place last week.
